Isabella J. Ranson
Instructor/Artistic Director
Isabella Ranson’s ballet and dance career, like many, started at the early age of 6 in Kingsville, TX with the Art in Motion Dance Company, then after moving to Corpus Christi, she continued with the Corpus Christi Concert Ballet under Nancy Sulk and studied privately with Chrisi Carter in the Cecchetti style of Ballet. She then moved on to study the Russian Ballet Techniques, under professional danseur of ballet Nathan Reagan at YAPP 361 (Young Artist Professional Program) for three and half years, which required intense studio study and growth to advanced pointe ballet. She also picked up hip hop under Carlos Cano, and tap, jazz, contemporary/ lyrical works, from Mr Reagan while with yapp. She performed locally at community events and regionally along side yapp 361. She competed with variations from the ballet La Esmerelda, and Don Quixote and other contemporary works for two years at YAGP (Youth America Grand Prix Dance Competition) in Houston, as well as a Don Quixote variation at the NYCDA (New York Dance Alliance Competition) in Houston. Recently she was seen on stage in the Corpus Christi Ballet production of Sleeping Beauty as the Red Jewel and Nymph at the Selena Auditorium, under Christina Munro. She also volunteered and performed the role of the Rat Queen and the Sugar Plum fairy for the yearly Christmas show for the Driscoll Children's Hospital under Chrisi Carter. In Theatre, she performed the Chava ballet sequence in the 2015 TAMUK university production of Fiddler on the Roof, and then, she performed the role of Shprintze and a Russian Bottle Dancer in Fiddler on the Roof here at Aurora Arts Theatre in 2017. She choreographed aurora arts theatre’s production of a chorus line in the summer of 2022, as well as participating in 2022's Bailando dance festival choreographing and performing two original pas de duaxs (dance for two.) She is working privately with professional ballet dancer Veronica Yanez. Isabella is certified in Mat Pilates and has taught Mat Pilates and ballet at Ballroom by the Bay, Corpus Christi Ballet Munro Studios, Paradise Pole Fitness, elite fitness studio, studio d and h, Cinderella’s dance school, and avant dance here in CC.
